The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (CCCK) promotes our member companies and Korean-Canadian Trade through the following activities:

MEMBERSHIP Networking
- Members network with one another, build client relationships, and serve each other's needs

Business Luncheons & Forums
- Members attend regular meetings, where distinguished leaders address current economic, political, or social issues
- Through such meetings, members have the opportunity to meet experts face-to-face; these opportunities provide direction for future business strategies and socialization
- Click here for more information regarding our Business Luncheons

Affiliation with other Business/Gov't/Chamber Associations

- The CCCK collaborates with other Chambers (ie: Italian and Australian), as well as organizations such as MOFE, MOFAT, MOCIE, the BOK, FSS and FTC.
- We collaborate with such organizations with three objectives in mind: to raise awareness of Korean-Canadian business opportunities, to share information whenever pertinent, and to arrange meetings of joint interest to each party.

Public and Media Relations
- Our member companies reach a wider audience through our events and outreaches
- The Chamber promotes our members through our website, newsletter, as well as visits to other delegates within Korea
- The CCCK newsletter acts as a two-way information conduit between our members and various Korean government offices
- The CCCK makes personnel visits to Korean government officials to share information regarding Korean-Canadian trade and to express our members views in this area

Provide a Network of Services through the Chamber
- Chamber members have access to such services as
a) Legal services
b) Retail banking services
c) Investment banking services
d) Consulting/market research services
e) Accounting services
Social Events
- The CCCK holds social events that bring both CCCK members as well as members of the Korean and Canadian communities together. Our members enjoy our Christmas and Thanksgiving parties in a non-business setting.

Below are three other important CCCK-sponsored events. They receive positive media attention and allow our CCCK company members to participate in events that make a meaningful contribution to the Korean Community.

THE TERRY FOX CANCER RUN
A charity marathon race/walk: 10k jog, or 5km walk --- all monies raised are donated to Korean cancer research.

In 2003, over 2500 participants raised 53million KRW (CAD $59,000) for cancer research.

THE KEATING SCHOLARSHIP
- In memory of R.K (Bob) Keating, the President of the Canadian Business Club when it was converted to the CCCK in 1995.

Every year the CCCK awards a CAD $5,000 (3.9 million KRW) scholarship to a promising Korean student, to assist with tuition, travel and living costs for a minimum period of one academic year in Canada.

We intend to extend the range of scholarships offered in the near future

CANADA DAY (JULY 1ST) PARTY
In 2003, over 1500 persons were in attendance

an outdoor party with games and drinking; sporting events, music, and drinks under the sun

Canadians and Koreans enjoy a full day party, engaging in typical Canadian summer barbeque party activities
LOBBYING on behalf of our Member companies
- When sensitive issues arise that affect our Member companies (such as taxation, intellectual
property rights, or trade barriers), we visit Korean government -- or Canadian government - officials to seek to redress the problem.
