Bureau, Simon: Chairman

Simon Bureau is the newly-elect Chairman of CCCK for the year 2008. He is Managing Director and Korea Branch manager of Vectis International, Inc. Simon has witnessed major changes in the Korean market, having lived and worked in Korea on different occasions since 1986. Prior to founding Vectis, he worked with Teleglobe in Montreal and has held other positions in the IT and finance industry in Washington, D.C., New York and Seoul. He holds a BBA in Finance from Bishop¡¯s University and a M.Sc. in International Business from L¡¯Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC).

Tuharsky,Terry: Vice Chairman (Former Chairman)

Terry Tuharsky is the Vice-President of Business Development, GBD Canada. He has worked in Korea for over a decade. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Masters of Business Administration. His career includes posts in IT, joint venture analysis and financial modeling and analysis. Mr. Tuharsky is married and an avid tennis player.


Baron, Joan: Vice Chairman (Former Chairman)

Joan Baron and her husband have resided in Korea since 1996. She is the President & CEO of GBD (Global Business Development) Canada. She earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan, as well as a Master of Science from the University of Regina. Her area of expertise is in computer information technology.



Chong, Chong-Mo: Vice Chairman

Vice Chairman Chong has been affiliated with the CCCK (and Korean-Canadian Business Association) for over thirty years and with the KOIMA(Korea Importers Association) as Chief Advisor to the Chairman, currently. He is Chairman of Sewon System Integration Co. Ltd, and his areas of expertise include marketing, as well as trading and consulting in the areas of information & telecommunications, avionics and military supplies. VC Chong is married with 4 sons and a daughter



Tessy, Leith: Treasurer

Leith Tessy is CFO of LG-Nortel. Over his 10 year career at Nortel, he has taken on progressively senior roles in Corporate Finance, and in supporting Nortel's business units, most recently serving as CFO and Vice President of Nortel's global Mobility and Career business. Leith is a professional Engineer, and received his BASc (Industrial Engineering) from the University of Toronto as well as an MBA from the Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario)



Morris, John: Vice Chairman

John Morris has held various roles at the LG-Nortel joint venture and has been in Korea since it was formed in November 2005. In addition to his roles at LG-Nortel, during his ten years at Nortel, he has had finance assignments in M&A, operations, product development and commercial sales including one in Australia which created the natural bridge that led him to Korea. Mr. Morris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and in his spare time is an avid sports and arts enthusiast.



Dyas, Richard: Vice Chairman

Richard Dyas, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Asian Tigers Transpack International, has resided in Seoul for 4 years. Richard brings over 25 years of international relocation and transportation experience to Transpack, Korea. He provides the Seoul expatriate community with a broad base of international relocation experience. He is a Liberal Arts graduate of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; he is married and spends his free time reading history, hiking and playing tennis.



Choi, Bill I. L.: Vice Chairman

Mr. Choi is a advisor and Self Gas Station Project Manager in SK Networks. He worked in Petro_Can, Sunoco and Shell Canada in Toronto Ontario. He lived in Toronto Ontario almost 30 years before he came to Seoul Korea. He studied business administration and literature in Korean University, Lakehead University Ontatio and CCU in U.S.A. He enjoys sports and travel. golf, ice-hockey.


Conforme, Michael: Vice Chairman

Michael Conforme is President & CEO of GCT Services and has resided in Seoul for over 15 years. Michael¡¯s area of expertise is corporate training including: communication, leadership and teambuilding. He earned a BA (Education) in 1986 from Kansas State University and an MA (Education) in 1990 from University of Maryland.


De Gregorio, Robert: Vice Chariman

Mr. DeGregorio is AECL¡¯s Senior Representative in Seoul, and is responsible for AECL¡¯s services business in both Korea and China. Mr. De Gregorio has held several positions in AECL, primarily in the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of major nuclear projects. This included site postings in project management and construction / commissioning Quality Assurance for both the Korean and Chinese projects. He earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Waterloo, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. DeGregorio is married and enjoys hiking and biking in Korea.



Duerden, Charles Arthur: Vice Chairman

Charles Duerden works for Invest KOREA, Korea's national investment promotion agency and a part of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra). Within IK he serves as managing editor of Invest Korea Journal and contributes to the national investment promotion drive as Executive PR Coordinator. His areas of expertise include PR, media skills, advertising and journalism. Mr. Duerden is a BSc. (Econ) graduate of the University of London, plus a graduate of the Canadian Securities Course and the New York Stock Exchange and American Stock Exchange courses. Through speechwriting, publications, liaising with the foreign press and the major media organizations, Mr. Duerden works to raise the profile of the Agency and Korea in general among the foreign investment community. He is married with three sons.



Hong, Sunnie : Vice Chairman

CEO & Chief Consultant of P&E Consulting Inc. and careerTANGO.com, Ms. Hong's area of expertise covers HR Management, recruiting and career transition. She earned a bachelor degree from Korea University, and later completed a Master's degree in HR & Organization Management from the Graduate School of Korea University. Additionally, Ms. Hong has over 10 years of experience in the foreign banking industry. She is married and has two sons.


House, Paul: Vice Chairman

Paul House is the Chief Operating Officer of LG-Nortel Co., Ltd. Mr. House has worked at Nortel for 41 years(1968~2008). He moved to Korea in 2005. Within Nortel he has served as Vice President of Marketing Data Carrier Networks, Director Business Development for Taiwan Deregulated Market, Director Sales for Singapore Alternate Operators and Channels, and General Manager of the Reliance Business Unit. Mr. House is a graduate of the York University in Toronto, plus a graduate of the UCLA Berkley in San Francisco.


Kim, Tam-Hee: Vice Chairman

Ms. Kim Tam-Hee is a foreign attorney (Ontario Bar, Canada) currently employed at Kim & Chang Law Offices. Ms. Kim's areas of expertise include transportation and international trade disputes. She earned both a BA (1985) and LL.B. (1990), and has been a visiting research fellow at Seoul National University. She is married with one son.



Kim, Tyler: Vice Chairman

Tyler Kim has extensive experience as a consultant in corporate communications and public affairs. As a co-founded News Communications, Tyler has built the agency as one of the most respected and successful public relations consultancies in Korea. He has counseled many senior executives of multi-national companies, providing them strategies for various initiatives including positioning, crisis communications and public affairs. Tyler received a BA in East Asian Studies from the University of Toronto, and has lived in Korea since 1993.



Lee, In-Jae: Vice Chairman

A graduate of Seoul National University majoring in geology, Mr. Lee In-Jae went on to earn a graduate degree in air transportation from the HanKook Aviation Univesity. Mr. Lee is currently president of Dongbo Air Services Co. Ltd, and possesses expertise in airlines general sales agency. His career spans 14 years for Korean Air, as well as another 16 years for Air Canada. He is married with one son and one daughter.



Pinansky, Thomas: Vice Chairman

Tom Pinansky, Senior Foreign Attorney at Barun Law, is engaged in the practice of international corporate law. He is also ¡°Of Counsel¡± to the US law firm, Preti Flaherty Beliveau Pachios & Haley. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Washington, DC Bar. During his career, he has practiced law with Kim Shin & Yu in Seoul, with Hogan & Hartson in Washington, DC and with Vinson & Elkins in Austin, Texas. He has been substantially involved with the representation of Canadian government and business interests in Korea for well over a decade. He was born in Portland, Maine, USA, and he is married to Ms. Roxanne Holland, who is the Sales and Marketing Director of the Dragon Hill Lodge in Seoul. He is a graduate of Harvard College (Class of 1981, magna cum laude) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (Class of 1985).



Kim, Genny S.: Vice Chairman

Genny Kim is a Canadian lawyer, working in Korea as a Senior Foreign Legal Consultant with the law firm of Shin & Kim. She is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia (admitted, 1996), and a graduate of the University of British Columbia (B.A., International Relations, 1991; LL.B., 1995). She joined Shin & Kim in 1999, and her main areas of expertise include cross-border acquisition financing, mergers & acquisitions and structured finance.



Cook, Ken: Vice Chairman (Former Treasurer)

Mr. Cook is Executive Partner at Ernst & Young Korea. Married with two children, he has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. Being an expert in the area of accounting, tax and corporate finance, Mr. Cook holds Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified General Accountants (CGA) designations in Canada, and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in the USA. His professional concentration areas include international investment and taxation including M&A advisory consulting, entry & exit strategy consulting, regulatory advices, tax planning and capital structuring for both inbound and outbound investments.



Kang, June Elizabeth: Vice Chairman

June graduated from the University of Western Ontario and is on her fourth year working for the Seoul Foreign School as the Director of Development. She fulfilled two years to serve as Secretary-General on a Foundation in a joint effort between the Seoul Metropolitan Government, MONICE and the International Community for the establishment of an International School project. She continues to serve as a Co-Chair for the Education Committee in AMCHAM since 2003.



Bae, Adrian: Vice Chairman

Adrian graduated from the University of Toronto and UBC Law School in Canada. Adrian is admitted to the Law Society of British Columbia. After working for a litigation firm in Canada for a few years, he moved to Korea and had worked for Yoon, Yang, Kim, Shin & Yu in Seoul for over four years. He then joined Diageo as in-house counsel covering Japan and Korea. Adrian joined BAT Korea in April of 2007.



Joh, Jacob: Vice Chairman

Jacob Joh is the Group General Manager of the Executive Centre, a premier business center and leader in the served office industry, headquartered in Hong Kong. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Yonsei University in Korea. He has over 15 years of experience in both the real estate and finance industries.



Lacourcière Michel: Embassy Liaison

Michel Lacourcière holds a B.A. from Laurentian University and an M.A. in International Relations from Laval University. He also completed courses at l¡¯École nationale d¡¯administration publique and London School of Economics and Political Science. He served two years with the United Nations Development Program in Mauritania and worked ten years as a Management Consultant specialized in Program Evaluation, Comprehensive Audit and Risk Management. He has undertaken assignments in over a dozen countries in Africa, Asia, Canada and Latin America for diverse clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2000. Prior to assuming his current position as Trade Commissioner, (First Secretary Commercial/Economic) at the Canadian Embassy in Korea, M Lacourcière was Deputy Director, Performance Management with the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service based in Ottawa.



Moon, Kwang Soon : Korea Canada Society (KCS) Liaison

Dr. Moon, Kwang Soon is President and CEO of Korea Interfacial Science and Engineering Institute (KISEI). He serves as Vice President of Korea Canada Society (KCS). He is a Fellow, and Director of Policy Research, Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST). His major R&D interests in interfacial science in materials, energy, environments, and water distribution led him to services in different capacities in various Academic, Industrial, and Governmental Institutes in Korea and abroad. He received his B.Sc. from Seoul National University, M.A.Sc. from University of British Columbia, and Ph.D. from University of California at Berkeley. He is married to Sunok, and has one son, David.
