CCCK- R.K. Keating Memorial Scholarship
The Canadian
Chamber of Commerce in Korea (CCCK) and Atomic Energy Canada Limited are
pleased to present the CCCK - R.K. Keating Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is a CDN $5,000 one-time
bursary to assist with tuition, travel and living costs to be awarded on an
annual basis to one or more Korean student(s).
Its purpose is to
assist worthy Korean students in their studies, and to build an academic
relationship between Canada and Korea.
R.K. Keating was
Vice President and Senior Representative in Korea or Atomic Energy of Canada
Limited (AECL) between 1985-91 and 1994-96, until his untimely death in October
1996. Bob Keating was the President of
the Canadian Business Club when it was converted to the CCCK in 1995. In memory of Mr. Keating and his dedication,
the CCCK has established this scholarship.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (CCCK) was formally established in 1995, and is a
non-profit membership organization consisting of companies and individuals with
an interest in fostering the Canada-Korea relationship. Though focusing
primarily on commerce and trade, the CCCK also holds social and charitable
events related to Canada-Korea relations.
Atomic
Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) is a world-leading nuclear
engineering company. AECL has played a major role in the Korean nuclear energy
program since 1976. This successful partnership between Korea and Canada has led to AECL helping to open 4 fully operational nuclear power plants in Korea.
